Monday 12/1-finish Roots Pt. 2 if you haven't already-due 12/2 --Complete chart --see below Articles of Confederation Weaknesses / Successes
--Read 8.1-8.3 in textbook---list at least 3 weaknesses of the Articles of Confederation; find at least one success under 8.3 in text. In addition, answer the question in the box for 8.3 in your ISN on page 48.
Tuesday 12/2--prepare/color the xeroxed face of your delegate to the Constitutional Convention, read over your role sheet, and read 8.4-8.5 in your text and answer the question in the box for 8.4-8.5 in your ISN. Also have a name tag with your delegates name and a state tag with the state your delegate represents.
Wed 12/3 -read 8.6-8.9 in your text and answer the question in the boxes for 8.6-8.9 in your ISN. Thurs 12/4-read 8.10-8.12 in your text and answer the question in the boxes for 8.10-8.12 in your ISN. Come prepared to represent your delegate in the debate each day--be familiar with the issues.
Friday 12/5-turn in ISN with questions answered for Chapter 8.
Past--Assignments for the week of Nov 17-21 and Nov 24 and 25 (the two days before Thanksgiving break):
We will be watching and discussing two episodes of the film Roots. Students should complete their notes and the writing prompts for each episode. Roots Part 1 is due this week either 11/20 or 11/21--student choice. Roots Part 2 is due Tuesday 11/25 or Dec 2--student choice. Writing prompts should be word processed paragraphs with introductions and conclusions. The prompts should be stapled to the notes.
Students--if you are absent for any portion of the film, check in with me. You may need to arrange a time to see certain film clips in order to complete your writing prompts.
Students should bring their textbook and ISN notebook to class the following week after Thanksgiving.
