Mission Statement
Powell Middle School's purpose is to create a curriculum program in an environment that will support student's intellectual capabilities, and physical, emotional, and social strengths.
History Of Powell
Powell Middle School opened its doors to students in 1981 to serve the families of Littleton and Arapahoe County. It was designed as an energy efficient, passive solar building during the energy crisis of the seventies. The building itself is built into a hill with rocks surrounding the back. The heat and coolness from the earth keeps the building warm in the winter and cool in the summer. The front of the building is also lined with solar windows to let the natural light in. The backside has large picture frame windows to let even more natural light in.
